Information:
One dark night, the stars disappeared, and the sky glowed with an unearthly light. Humans trembled, fearing that the universe was coming to an end... but the end never came. The light gradually faded, and at first, it appeared that nothing had changed... but it gradually dawned on the people of ten worlds that they now shared a single one. The First Convergence had occurred, and the lives of the new world's inhabitants would never be the same.
Each group of heroes and villains had a different story to tell:
The Light Warriors, champions of their world, had just dealt the final blow to Tiamat, the Fiend of the Wind. Warmech, their world's strongest monster, lay in a heap of circuits and fuel on the bridge behind them. As the Knight placed the Orb of Wind atop the altar, the room was bathed in soft and eerie blue light. Boldly, the Warriors stepped onto the teleporter gate, but they did not emerge at the base of the Mirage Tower, as expected...
Frionel, Guy, Leonhart, and Maria had just vanquished the Emperor of Paramekia. As they made their way out of Pandemonium, awash with the thrill of victory, the ground began to shake. At first, they feared that this was the Emperor's final act of revenge. As Pandemonium itself began to fade away, though, they realized that even the Emperor didn't have the power to change the world itself...

Information:
A second group of Light Warriors had just saved Prince Allus of Salonia from the hideous Garuda, which had slain his father. As the beast died, a storm rocked every city on the planet...
Cecil had just defeated his dark mirror image, and accepted the gift of light from the spirit of his father, KluYa. When the Paladin and his companions stepped out of the chamber, they looked out on a completely different world. What had happened? Cecil, Tellah, and the Mysidian twins headed for Baron's former location, wondering if it was too late to save the kingdom... and Rosa. Kain, having been freed from Golbez's control by the shifting of worlds, set out in search of Cecil.
Butz, Lenna, Faris, and Galuf fought their way through one of the towers surrounding Exdeath's shielded castle. At the tower's summit, they challenged Atomos, and found themselves inexorably pulled toward his gaping maw. Just as it seemed that they were about to be devoured, they fell unconscious, only to awaken lying atop the floating remnants of Zeza's flagship. What had happened? Was this a new world, and if so, had Exdeath also made the transition?
Terra, Locke, and the Figaro brothers stood before the gate to the Esper World, the doors of which refused to budge. An all-too-familiar laugh echoed from behind them, and the heroes found themself fighting off Imperial troops led by Kefka. The world must have changed at that moment, for a small girl from another world appeared before the gate. Rydia's magic aided the Returners in staving off the Imperial assault, and the Esper gate was never opened.

Information:
Cloud and his friends breathed a collective sigh of relief, their task complete. ShinRa was no more, and Sephiroth's plans had been scuttled by a miracle from the Planet. Unfortunately, the Convergence was soon to undo their progress. Rufus ShinRa awoke in the new world, apparently having been spared from Diamond Weapon's blast. He found ShinRa in shambles, and quickly proceeded to rebuild the company. Sephiroth regained consciousness in front of a temple, his body restored, the Masamune lying by his side. He knew that he had been defeated, and had lost his chance to use Meteor; all Materia, it seemed, had vanished forever. Aeris awakened in front of Elmyra's house, alive somehow. Perhaps the Planet had a new task for her, although the sound of the Lifestream was gone.
On the continent of Lesalia, the Lion War was coming to a gradual end as casualties mounted on both sides. Ramza Beoulve had managed to wrest many of the Zodiac Stones from their corrupt and twisted bearers, but the Lucavi had taken something even more precious to him: his sister, Alma. As Ramza and his companions hacked their way through the lower levels of Orbonne Monastery, the Stones reacted violently to some unseen force, and vanished, leaving behind a changed world. Many of those slain in the war, including the two eldest Beoulves, found themselves alive and lost in the new world.
Squall, Zell, and Selphie rushed into Balamb Garden, aware that Galbadian missiles were slated to destroy the school. Racing against the clock, they activated the Garden's emergency flight systems and lifted it off the ground... momentarily. The Garden landed in the ocean, and began to drift toward Fisherman's Horizon. As Squall frantically struggled to regain control, a great storm arose...

Information:
Zidane and his friends were fighting (begrudgingly) in the service of Kuja, who sought a source of power capable of destroying Garland. They slew the altar guardians and activated the portal to Terra, but at that point, things stopped going according to Kuja's plans. The ground shook violently, and the Convergence swept over their world. Kuja seethed, unable to get to Terra, but soon realized that he had a new world to toy with.
The Converged world was marked by drastic changes. The castle town of Baron had tripled in size by merging with Salonia and Lindblum. War broke out in the city as Kainazzo, in the guise of the King of Baron, attempted to conquer the other two cities. He was ultimately dethroned by Cecil and Kain, and order was restored to the new Tri-City.
The people of Figaro and Mideel found that their cities had become one. The city quickly erupted into chaos as warriors from North Figaro and Imperial soldiers clashed, while the people of Mideel desperately attempted to form a sacred neutral ground.
The old fortress of Junon, which had been abandoned by ShinRa when the Sister Ray was moved, merged with the Returner base of Narshe. The leaders of the two cities hammered out a rough agreement, and vowed to work together.
The citizens of Balamb found a new city in their midst: Rocket Town. No strife or unrest was noted, and the citizens of the two towns eventually got used to each other.

Information:
Materia had vanished entirely, and the shards of Magicite that had given the Returners their magical abilities were gone. Many spellcasters who had formerly relied on such magical artifacts found that their spellcasting abilities had become innate.
Many powerful individuals who had perished in their homeworlds found themselves resurrected in the new one, for reasons beyond their understanding. The resurrection only affected certain people, "chosen" seemingly at random. If there is a reason for this mysterious occurrence, it remains unknown.
Four Fiends of the Elements remain: Rubicante, Valvalicia, Kainazzo, and Scarmiglione. These four are considerably more powerful than they once were, having absorbed the elemental power of the additional Converged worlds.
The Crystals, Orbs, and Zodiac Stones have vanished. All attempts to locate them thus far have been fruitless.
Nobody knows what became of the ten original worlds. Their status is unknown, as many people and places did not join this converged reality.

The Second Convergence
Nearly nine months after the Convergence, Hojo had developed a new reactor to replace the ShinRa's useless MAKO Reactors. The 'Convergence Reactor', as he called it, drained the magical energies the freely roam this world; Energies he believes to have caused the Convergence. MAKO Reactor One in Midgar was developed as a prototype, and a more stable model was built directly under ShinRa Tower. The Reactors took the energy and put it through a similar process as MAKO Reactors. A substance, dubbed MAKO-B, was a bi-product of the energy output. It seemed that the ShinRa had finally found themselves a new weapon.
A small group of AVALANCHE and SeeD successfully infiltrated Midgar and ShinRa defenses, making their way in to MAKO Reactor One. They planted a bomb on the reactor, and cleared Midgar on the Highwind just as the Reactor blew, destroyed a large portion of Midgar in the process. Feedback from the explosion was sent through the reactor and in to the Convergence Energies which triggered a second Convergence.

Suddenly, the people of Zanarkand found their city transported through a rift of energy in to a strange, unfamilar world; Disconnected from all the things they knew of in Spira. At that same time, a monstrosity larger that any of the known WEAPONS appeared through a similar rift and hovered over the damaged city of Midgar. As energy began to collect near the mouth of the creature, the ShinRa issued an evacuation of the city as they themselves scrambled to move all operations in to their newly constructed Highwind II.
As the Highwind II left from ShinRa tower, another rift opened and ripped apart the creature. The remains of the creature fell to the Midgar Plate, causing massive devastation. The Midgar plate itself was ripped from its supports and was sent flying in to the mountains like a frisbee... Crushing must of what was left, and destroying the second Convergence Reactor. Like its predecessor, the second reactor sent feedback in to the Convergence Energies, triggering yet another Convergence...
